"Angel Street" is a psychological thriller set in Victorian London. It revolves around Jack and Bella Manningham, a recently married, and otherwise seemingly ordinary couple living on Angel Street. However, beneath the surface, Jack, is manipulating and tormenting his wife into believing she is losing her sanity.
As the plot unfolds, a retired Scotland Yard detective enters Bella's life and begins investigating the mysterious occurrences in the Manningham household. This play explores themes of manipulation, deception, and the impact of psychological abuse on an individual's mental health.
Characters:
Jack Manningham- 25-45 y/o. Proper British gentleman. Beard/moustache a plus.
Bella Manningham- 25-45 y/o. Proper British. Hairried, exhausted and nervous.
Elizabeth (maid)- 50+ y/o. Cockney, Irish or Welsh. Subservient yet loyal.
Nancy(maid)- 19-22 y/o. Cockney or Irish. Cheeky. flirty.
Rough- 60 + y/o. British, Scottish,or Irish. Friendly, charming with a warm laugh. Dominating presence.
